11-05 B
11-05 B:
"1. Nonsense - Komeda
An older band sounding like a mixture of Postal Service and Yeah Yeah Yeahs
2. Publish My Love - Rogue Wave
Spacey yet energetic, a successful recomendation to me from Rhapsody
3. Be Still My Heart (remix) - The Postal Service
A B-side from one of my favorite bands
4. Mama - Genesis
Filled with quiet intensity, David Copperfield loved this song and so will you
5. Did I Tell You - The Spinto Band
Say "hello" to the Spinto Band, seven kids who rock beyond their years
6. There's Never Enough Time - Postal Service
This B-side proves once more that bad news is best delivered to happy music
7. Life In A Northern Town - The Dream Academy
This song`s use in commercials greatly distracts from how cool it actually is
8. Oh Mandy - The Spinto Band
You'll be hooked after one listen or your money back! (note the lack of distortion)
9. Happy Xmas (War Is Over) (Single Version) - Street Drum Corps
The Used joins with Street Drum Corps to bring us a rhythm driven rendition of John Lennon`s politically charged Christmas classic
10. In Like A Lion (Always Winter) - Relient K
Another Christmas song, this time inspired by Narnia, thankfully not cheesy"

1 Comments:
1. Nonsense - Komeda
A great mellow tune. I just hope no one writes a song like this about me.
2. Publish My Love - Rogue Wave
Echo-y tunnel rock. I really dig this stuff. Be sure to "Get yourself a cup of shmo-mo" before listening.
3. Be Still My Heart (remix) - The Postal Service
This track rules. It's good enought to be on the album, and I'm thrilled its on Rhapsody now.
4. Mama - Genesis
Ah yes. Memories of Copperfield making a woman fall in love with him and then lifting her into the air on water. The typical relationship.
5. Did I Tell You - The Spinto Band
I always look for cool/wierd voices in my music. This grabbed me right away.
6. There's Never Enough Time - Postal Service
Doesn't grab me like the other one, but any PS is good.
7. Life In A Northern Town - The Dream Academy
You'll be glad to know that Randy
said "oh, life in a northern town" when I played this at work.
8. Oh Mandy - The Spinto Band
You were right. Very catchy. Do I detect a hint of "With or without you" influence? Either way, it rocks.
9. Happy Xmas (War Is Over) (Single Version) - Street Drum Corps
A fine remake of the classic song. Interesting how artists feel a responsibility to speak on politics, and how large an influence they end up having.
10. In Like A Lion (Always Winter) - Relient K
Agreeably cooler than the celtic number "Frivolity with Tumnus" by the rock opera "Sanctuary". (Okay, so there's no such band. But there could be!)
