4. Deep Blue - Rodrigo Leao
Discovered at random on my MP3 player of all places. Sounds like a Cowboy Bebop track.
5. Godan daginn - Sigur Ros
Smooth acoustic goodness from these Icelandic hit-makers
6. Monsoon - Tokio Hotel
Both RockBand and the radio at work turned me onto these teenage German rock-stars.
7. Propane Nightmares - Pendulum
Radio 104.5 contributes to my playlist once more.
8. Ghost Town - Shiny Toy Guns
The new singer takes it home in this high ranking track off the new STG CD.

All of this months tracks come from the same source: Radio 104.5 in Philadelphia. A "no nonsense" station, Radio 104.5 is definitely the post-modernists radio station, with no flashy names or defined playlists. They're slogan is "We play music. If you like it, fine." That being said it is clear that they are more of an alternative radio station, tailor made for college students and like minded individuals. You can check them out at http://www.radio1045.com/.

The Bravery are back and burning up the air wave with this diddy.
2. Lake Michigan - Rogue Wave
Enjoy this song over a cup of shmo'bro.
3. Hook - Blues Traveler
The most blatantly catchy song in existence.
4. Big Casino - Jimmy Eat World
Instantly gratifying. Good to see Jimmy hasn't lost his hunger.
5. Straight Lines - Silverchair
I had to use the power of the net to find. They NEVER said what it as on the radio.
6. Calling You - Blue October
I'm starting to really like these guys. This song has a lot of heart.
7. Missed The Boat - Modest Mouse
The last few singles didn't catch my attention as much as this one totally did.

What can I say?I like C&C. Sanchez's singing seems more natural on this track without any loss to his trademark high notes - a sign of vocal training?
2. When Did Your Heart Go Missing? - Rooney
From commercials to MTV, it's been hard to avoid getting this insidious pop tune stuck in my head.
3. Stronger (Edited) - Kanye West
Definite "guilty pleasure". I just found myself cuing this song up too many times to not put it on the list.
4. On A Friday - Blaqk Audio
After my first listen, I immediately had to hear this song again. The pay off in the end is just so worth it.
5. Brink Of Disaster - Mae
Yay Mae! It's always fun to rediscover a band you had once loved and see that they're still kick'n it (with Byron Allen)
6. We Might Fall - Ryan Star
I had forgotten how powerful Ryan Star's voice was and just why I was so impressed with the rise of the "Black Horse"...but now I remember!
7. Wash The Day Away - TV On The Radio
After buying their album, I discovered this hidden gem toward the end of the CD. It's great to groove to.

Kanye West/Daft Punk - "Stronger"

One of my friends was talking a while back about how "crazy" Kanye West's new album was going to be and how his producers were warning him against going in this direction. Looks like Kanye stuck to his guns and I certainly can't complain about the results. I support any shot in the arm to the normally stagnant hip-hop genre.

This NPR recommended DJ works largely with classic Jazz samples. Great atmosphere.

Easily one of my favorite tracks from the new album. THEY are always so clever.
5. Baby, I Love Your Way (No Intro) - M.I.G.
Mig's cover is vindicated with the guitar work of the original artist, Peter Frampton.

A great look at the amazing song craft of yester year. Epic Prog Rock.

TOCA is a new band that puts to shame anyone else who has ever claimed to be a "genre buster". TOCA is literally not listed in any genre on Rhapsody (yet) because they are, in effect, every genre. I'm already inspired by the level of synergy with which the many members of this band function; it's clear that they share a love for all styles of music, no matter how far out there they might be. Check out their debut album, and/or just wait for my next playlist in which they should be featured heavily.

These guys are definitely my Artist of the Month. The latest in this decades "dance-rock" craze.

Though no as fun as Marty's "Trees", this may be the best song to come out of Rockstar yet.

Here's a nice relaxing interlude....and a great transition into the next song.
6. Mad World - Michael Andrews
Whether you know it from "Donnie Darko" or "Gears of War", this tender remake is certain to put you in a tragic mood.
7. Welcome To The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
Is this the title track to a "rock masterpiece"? Probably not, but it's catchy none the less (same goes for the album)
8. Paper Shoes - Incubus
Incubus is back with more great tunes! Here's one of them.
9. We Are Pilots - Shiny Toy Guns
You've seen the sleazy side of STG, but before you hide them from your girlfriend give this heart-felt song a listen.
10. The Dead Parade - Rock Star: Supernova
And just like that the "parade" lyric is saturated. But that doesn't stop this song from rocking. I had to put this up because it features a choir of our favorite final four.

MC Chris proves to be "not just a nerd rapper" but an ambassador for the next generation of suburban hip-hoppers.
2. Just Get Up and Dance (Remix) - Afrika Bambaataa

3. Amazon River - Philip Glass/Uakti
I bought the album, "Aguas da Amazonia", after hearing a few tracks from it at an Eastern dance show. This track wasn't one of them, but stands out to me as the most inspirational, conjuring a style somewhere between my favorites, Muse and Incubus.

DragonForce - "Operation Ground and Pound"

Typically, I don't pay attention to the rumblings of the Metal underground, but lately one band has been making some substantial quakes. DragonForce has gained quite a large following, as made evident by this unusually "high" budget music video. I like the fact that this band doesn't resort to grunts and barks, but goes the melodic route. They probably won't turn any new people on to Metal, but they'll definitely give all the OLD Metalheads something NEW to rally behind. It's like....if the '80s happened....today!

- I remembering watching Gabriel perform this song on TV when I was much younger. A fun peice of nostalgia.
2. Daylight Robbery - Imogen Heap
- Finally, Imogen Heap's full album is available on Rhapsody and truely worth listening to. This track stands out as being a high energy departure from Imogen's other matierial and is proof of this artists stylistic diversity.
3. One Way Ticket (Album Edit Amended) - The Darkness
- The Darkness is back and darker than ever! Ok, maybe not 'darker' but definitely out to proove that their not just a one hit gimmick.
4. State of Mind - Raul Midon
- I heard this guy on Philly's public radio and had to look him up.
5. On My Way - Ben Kweller
- Humourous and full of heart, Ben Kweller defnitely has a kind of 'Weezer' quality to his style, maybe that why I like it.
6. Wires - Athlete
- Came across this band while listening to Rhapsody radio. Definitely moving and and worth a listen.
7. The Ascent Of Stan - Ben Folds
- My room mate showed me this song and I'm happy he did. Not only is the piano playing sweet and the beat down-right danceable, but the lyrics tell an all too true story about a rebel who becomes what he fought against.
8. Move Along - The All-american Rejects
- My favorite song off their new album.
9. Little Wonder - David Bowie
- Another peice of nostalgia, though I'm foggy on where I first heard it.
